KABUL: In his Eid al-Fitr address, Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Islamic Emirate, reaffirmed Afghanistan’s commitment to fostering close and cooperative relations with Islamic nations. He urged all countries to respect Afghanistan’s sovereignty and refrain from interfering in its internal affairs.
“We aim to establish constructive and beneficial relations with all countries based on Islamic principles,” Akhundzada stated, emphasizing the importance of respecting Afghan values and traditions. He called for unity among Afghans to protect the Islamic system and maintain national stability.
Highlighting the role of the judiciary, the Emirate’s leader reiterated that legal decisions must be in accordance with Sharia law, including the implementation of Hudood (Islamic punishments), which he described as a fundamental objective of past struggles and sacrifices.
Sheikh Akhundzada also addressed religious scholars, urging them to guide the youth, discourage negative cultural practices, and support the enforcement of Islamic laws. He emphasized the role of educational institutions in shaping religious beliefs and called for curricula to align with Islamic Sharia.
Additionally, he condemned Israeli military actions in Palestine, labeling them as acts of oppression. He urged the Islamic world to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their pursuit of justice and rights.
